Our global industry
The creative industries are global. And for the UK alone, the creative economy is the fastest growing sector, worth £92bn a year, three million jobs (one in every eleven). Working in Europe is key to our creative industries: 42.5% of creative industries exports are to the EU
Our future prosperity
We want to play our part in the UK’s future prosperity, but as a global industry we need freedom of movement to be protected if we are to continue to make the best art with the best people and if artists are going to continue to delight audiences.
Short notice travel
Creatives often get offered work at 24 hours’ notice, and sometimes travel to the EU to work more than 40 times a year, taking artworks and equipment with them when they do.
47% of creatives are self-employed, including artists, musicians, actors, dancers, designers, producers, technicians and directors. Some of these professions are as much as 90% self-employed!
Freedom of movement
Multi-page visa documents and tax forms will not work for the creative industries: We need freedom of movement to be protected Post-Brexit.
